Robot Bawah Air Meneliti Samudra Antartika yang Terselimuti Es

Sebuah berita menarik diberitakan oleh CTV.ca, sebuah robot bawah air yang dimiliki Universitas British Columbia melakukan penyelidikan di perairan yang tetutup es di benua Antartika sebagai bagian dari proyek yang didesain untuk memberi pengetahuan baru terhadap para Ilmuan tentang kedalaman terlarang di Kutub Selatan.

Sampai sekarang sekarang ilmuan mendapati masih kesulitan untuk mengetahui dengan pasti apa yang terjadi diperairan dingin bawah es yang membentang sampai 44% garis pantai samudra Antartika.

Peralatan peneliti tradisional dijatuhkan melalui sejumlah lubang hasil bor, menghasilkan informasi terbatas mengenai temperatur air, kadar garam dan variabel lain.
Berbeda dengan Robot, kemampuan menyelam dan mengumpulkan data kemudia kembali ke titik awal secara otomatis memberikan gambaran lebih banyak tentang keadaan di celah sempit, memberikan perpektif 3 dimensi dari perairan luas yang terselimuti es ini.

Nilai mata pelajaran yang paling jeblok, alias yang paling banyak tidak lulusnya dalam UN 2010 adalah matpel Bahasa Indonesia. Menurut analisis ahli, ini disebabkan terlalu banyak yang menyepelekan BI. Apakah ini termasuk penggunaan bahasa tulis kebanyakan anak sekarang yang cenderung kacau balau? Mie Ayam is the Indonesian word from “Chicken Noodle”. It’s so delicious. Although some people say it’s not good for health but who cares, American still eats burger anyway hahaha. It is and indonesian food btw :-)

Yeah, MIe Ayam normally consists of a bowl of noodle, several pieces of chicken on top, soup and certain kind of soup. Sometimes you can add some onion leaves if you want. And there is some vegetables already there.

It’s pretty cheap for having one bowl hot Mie Ayam. It is around IDR 4000 or 5000. or around a half USD ($0.5). So Mie Ayam is Cheap ya!

In Indonesia, you can find Mie Ayam or chicken noodle almost everywhere. It is worth to pay attention to the place you want to have it. If it looks clean then it’s fine. But if the stall looks dirty you would better get away and find another Mie Ayam seller.

Welcome to Azis Blog, I wanna show you some pictures of Salatiga. Salatiga is the place where I am live in. I like the temperature here btw… Not so Hot, not so Cold.. :-)

You can see a gorgeous Mountain View that you have in Salatiga. They are Mountain Merbabu.

Obviously, It is the best place (in my opinion compared to other places) in Central Java, Indonesia. There you go with some photos I have about Salatiga.

The photo above, it’s a house of my friend (Arif Rahman). Major material of that house is from Bamboo. So Cool, isn’t it? And the picture was taken by Denise (A friend from Germany).

There are three Becak (Pedicaps) with their drivers. It is a nice transportation vehicle. You can feel the wind blows your hair. But you can not reach your destination quickly. It’s pretty slow. Just imagine the speed of a bike. Yeah, just make it as an alternative to try new thing. These pics are taken by a friend of mine (Sarah Simon) when she was in Salatiga, doing her job in this town.

It is a public swimming pool. Well…. for children though. Another Swimming pool in Salatiga is Kalitaman close to the main Mall of Tamansari. It is actually 3 minutes walking from the public swimming pool you see above :-)

These are just intro, I still have too many photos about Salatiga. I’ll post it later :-) I am tired Today after taking care of lots of stuffs….

Training for Trainer IIWC

Hi there! I am Azis, a volunteer from Salatiga, Indonesia. I just wanna help to spread the info for volunteer who join this TfT. Training is one of the ways that can be done to either empower or develop an organization or a person. As one of the fast growing NGO for International voluntary service with several kinds of activities, IIWC needs also a good qualified training program for its project and human resources.

There are many needs that have been identified by IIWC in order to improve the quality of its project as well as its human resources. Those trainings are training for short term voluntary activities (Training for Camp leader), Long and Middle Term Volunteering activities (On arrival training, Middle and Final evaluation seminar, Training for Contact Person, Training for and Planning meeting with Local Partners) and training for members of IIWC. For all of those trainings need, we need human resources that are able to organize and run the training from the preparation until the evaluation phase.

Thus, this 1^st Training for Trainers of Indonesia International Work camp is designed to try to fulfill the needs for trainers in practical level. It means, this training is designed to give the skills and knowledge to those who wants to develop and run training program in IIWC based on its need.

Objective

This training’s objective is to create a pool of trainers for IIWC so that the pool can supply IIWC with sufficient human resources for different kind of training needs.

Aims

1. Organizing 1^st Training for trainer of IIWC from 26-30 March 2010 for 17 respective candidate trainers of IIWC (based on the result of selection done previously).

Ikut Evaluasi LMTV Project Indonesia International Work Camp 2010

Hari ini, saya mengikuti serial acara dalam rangka evaluasi kegiatan organisasi non-profit (IIWC). Apa itu IIWC? Berikut latar belakangnya. Indonesia International Work Camp adalah salah satu lembaga swadaya masyarakat yang bergerak dalam bidang international voluntary service (kerelawanan internasional) dengan menyelanggarakan international workcamp (selama 2-3 minggu), Long and Middle Term Volunteering (LMTV selama 2-6 bulan) project, events dan campaign untuk meningkatkan public awareness serta IIWC Cares yang merupakan salah satu bentuk kepedulian IIWC untuk turut berperan serta aktif dalam kegiatan-kegiatan sosial kerelawanan di Indonesia. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan-kegiatannya, IIWC tidak bisa lepas dari kerjasama dan partnership yang melibatkan relawan asing dan lokal serta partner lokal dan juga asing.
Salah satu kegiatan IIWC yang saat ini berkembang dengan pesat adalah program Long and Midlle Term Volunteering. LMTV adalah salah satu bentuk kegiatan kerelawanan internasional dengan tema-tema tertentu dengan jangka waktu 2-12 bulan.
Dalam pelaksanaannya program Long and Middle Term Volunteering banyak melibatkan relawan asing yang terjun langsung ke dalam target group bersama-sama dengan partner lokal. Tentunya keberhasilan dari keseluruhan kegiatan dalam target group tidak terlepas dari asas-asas manajemen. Yang dalam hal ini termasuk juga Evaluasi Project, yang dilakukan bersama-sama oleh seluruh stakeholder/partner. Evaluasi ini dimaksudkan agar seluruh pihak yang saling terkait dalam project dapat berefleksi bersama dan memecahkan masalah yang ada. Sehingga tujuan-tujuan project akan dicapai dengan efektif.
Berbagai macam kendala yang seringkali dihadapi oleh IIWC dan partner lokal di Indonesia dalam pelaksanaan program LMTV secara umum adalah sebagai berikut:
1.    Sering terjadinya salah pengertian, kurangnya pemahaman, antara partner dan relawan asing karena perbedaan latar belakang budaya, menjadikan mereka lebih menganggap relawan sebagai tamu dan bukan bagian dari institusi yang wajib membantu pelaksanaan program kerja.
2.    Masalah komunikasi yang disebabkan oleh penguasaan bahasa baik bahasa inggris oleh partner lokal maupun penguasaan bahasa Indonesia oleh relawan asing.
3.    Kurangnya integrasi kegiatan kerelawanan LMTV dengan program kerja partner lokal sehingga relawan dirasakan sebagai beban baru partner lokal daripada membantu pelaksanaan program kerja yang sudah ada.
4.    Kurangnya pemahaman lintas budaya antara partner lokal yang bisa Perbedaan harapan antara relawan dan partner lokal tentang kegiatan kerelawanan yang dilaksanakan.
Selain sebagai ajang untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan, forum ini juga berfungsi sebagai ajang untuk bertemu dan membicarakan arah project antara IIWC dan Lokal Partner atau ajang untuk saling berbagi pengalaman antar Lokal Partner. Untuk itu, IIWC akan menyelenggarakan acara Evaluasi for LMTV project.

Tujuan Kegiatan In donesia International Workcamp yang satu ini adalah untuk: Melakukan evaluasi tengah program LMTV project IIWC tahun 2009-2010, Mengidentifikasi permasalahan-permasalaha yang muncul dalam pelaksanaan program LMTV serta mencari pemecahan permasalahan yang timbul. Sharing dan penguatan intercultural learning untuk partner.
Dan planning rencana program LMTV dimasa yang akan datang.

Evaluasi LMTV Project ini dilaksanakan pada hari umat-Minggu, 29-31 Januari 2010 di Bandungan, Semarang. Kalau acara serupa yang saya ikuti bertempat di Hotel Citra Dewi Bandungan. Acara ini juga di tempat yang sama.

Semoga acaranya sukses lancar dan membuahkan manfaat bagi relawan dan local partner yang ada di Indonesia.

Menjadi Diri Sendiri

Sering sekali kita melihat teman, sahabat di sekitar kita mendambakan menadi seperti orang lain. Pengen jadi seperti artis yang ini lah, artis yang lagi naik daun itu lah, dan sebagainya. Hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya kredibilitas harga diri yang dimiliki orang tersebut.

Cobalah kita ganti mindsetnya. Kita tahu ada orang yang pandai, terkenal, sukses, kaya, bukannya berangan-angan seandainya kita menjadi orang tersebut. Sebaiknya kita berusaha keras untuk mengikuti jejaknya, meniru lifestylenya, kebiasaan yang baik saja lho ya. Nah, dengan memposisikan diri kita sebagai pengikut, kita akan lebih menghargai setiap kerja keras yang dia lakukan sampai bisa sepintar itu, seterkenal itu dan sesukses itu. Tentunya pada akhirnya kita mendambakan bisa menyamai prestasinya setelah jerih payah yang kita lakukan.

Bagaimana? Apakah anda masih pengen berandai-andai menjadi si X, atau anda ingin menapaki jejak perjuangan si X untuk bisa memiliki derajat yang sama dengannya? Terserah Anda, karena hidup anda ya anda sendiri yang mengatur. Kalau saya, Menjadi diri sendiri lebih nyaman. Tentunya ada juga donk goal spektakuler yang saya tuju.

Kita sudah beberapa hari ke Tahun Baru, dan banyak dari kita yang masih menikmati cahaya sebuah awal baru. Yeah! New Year :-)

Setiap tahun, Januari membawa optimisme baru untuk perubahan, untuk kehidupan yang lebih baik, untuk yang lebih baik Anda. Dan itu hal yang menakjubkan.

Ini luar biasa, karena awal baru ini memberi kita kesempatan untuk menemukan kembali kehidupan kita dan diri kita sendiri. Hal ini memungkinkan kita untuk menghidupkan kembali diri kita sendiri, untuk melepaskan beban dari tahun sebelumnya dan melakukan apa pun. Apa pun mungkin!

Itu adalah hadiah, teman-teman saya, dan saya sarankan kita memanfaatkan hadiah ini. Bukan hanya dengan menciptakan dan menempel resolusi (here's my panduan untuk melakukan itu), tetapi dengan menciptakan ulang cara kita hidup.

Begini caranya.

1. Lepaskan.
Banyak kali kita terhambat oleh jaring kusut kegagalan sebelumnya, komitmen, emosi, hambatan. Kita tidak dapat mengubah karier karena kita sudah terbiasa dengan apa yang kita lakukan dan itu terlalu sulit untuk berubah. Kita tidak dapat menemukan waktu untuk mendapatkan sehat dan fit karena kita memiliki semua hal-hal lain yang harus dilakukan. Kita tidak dapat menemukan waktu untuk orang yang kita kasihi karena kita memiliki terlalu banyak komitmen.

Ini semua beban lama. Sebuah tuntutan awal baru yang bersih. Biarkan segala sesuatu dari masa lalu pergi (lebih mudah dikatakan daripada dilakukan, saya tahu). Kosongkan piring dan langit-langit.

Lepaskan lampiran untuk apa yang telah Anda lakukan selama setahun, atau tahun. Lepaskan kegagalan. Lepaskan ketakutan Anda telah dibangun. Melepaskan keengganan. Melepaskan ide-ide Anda tentang apa yang hidup Anda untuk menjadi seperti, karena itulah cara itu berkembang sejauh ini. Melepaskan keyakinan lama dipegang dan kebiasaan.

Anda memiliki sebuah awal baru. Lepaskan tahun lalu, dan mulai lagi.

2. Putuskan apa yang paling penting hari ini.
Lupakan tentang tujuan Anda untuk semua tahun ini. Sebaliknya, putuskan: apa yang Anda ingin lakukan hari ini?

Yang paling penting bagi Anda, untuk hidup Anda? Apa yang paling Anda sukai, sekarang? Apa yang menggairahkan dan invigorates Anda? Apa yang akan memberi Anda paling pemenuhan?

Seringkali jawabannya adalah dalam menciptakan sesuatu, membuat sesuatu yang baru, membantu orang lain, menjadi orang yang lebih baik, bekerja pada sebuah proyek yang akan menjadi prestasi yang bisa dibanggakan. Tapi apa pun jawaban Anda, sudah jelas dalam pikiran Anda di awal hari.

Ini mungkin sesuatu yang Anda bekerja pada sepanjang tahun, atau mungkin hanya sebulan terakhir, atau mungkin selama seminggu atau beberapa hari, atau hanya hari ini. Tidak masalah. Yang penting adalah hari ini - bahwa Anda akan bekerja pada hal ini dengan segenap hatimu, hari ini. Besok ... kita akan memutuskan bahwa besok.

3. Menghilangkan gangguan dan fokus.
Membersihkan email dan Facebook dan bercicit dan blog favorit Anda dan situs berita dan forum sosial, membersihkan iPhone atau Blackberry atau Android atau ponsel, membersihkan semua sedikit mengganggu pekerjaan dan tugas dan tugas yang menarik perhatian Anda, jelas menghilangkan kekacauan yang mengelilingi Anda (menyapu itu ke samping untuk menangani nanti).

Jangan melihat kebahagiaan sebagai sesuatu yang akan datang ketika Anda sudah selesai dengan tujuan ini, atau ketika Anda telah mencapai prestasi tertentu atau jumlah tertentu kekayaan atau barang-barang materi. Jangan melihat kebahagiaan sebagai tujuan, sesuatu yang Anda akan mendapatkan nanti.

Kebahagiaan adalah mungkin sekarang. Selalu ingat itu. Ketika Anda mendorong kembali sampai nanti, itu tidak akan pernah datang. Bila Anda belajar untuk menjadi bahagia sekarang, itu akan selalu berada di sini.

Ketika Anda melakukan apa pun yang Anda sukai, apa pun yang paling penting, apa pun yang Anda memutuskan layak waktu dan hati dan fokus ... bahagia! Anda melakukan apa yang Anda cintai. Dan yang benar-benar hadiah.

5. Menemukan kembali diri Anda, setiap hari.
Setiap hari, Anda akan dilahirkan kembali. Menemukan kembali diri Anda dan kehidupan Anda, setiap hari. Lakukan apa yang paling penting bagi Anda, pada hari itu.

Mungkin hal yang sama yang paling penting kemarin, atau mungkin tidak. Itu tidak penting. Yang penting adalah hari ini - sekarang. Bersemangat, bahagia, sekarang.

Anda akan memiliki sebuah awal baru setiap hari - bukan hanya pada 1 Januari. Dan itu, teman-teman saya, adalah hal terbaik.

Kemah Pertama Bersama Pelajar Jepang

Asyiknya mengahabiskan waktu bersama dengan teman-teman dalam sebuah kemah. Kita bisa berbagi pengetahuan bersama tenatang hal-hal yang sebelumnya kita tidak tahu. Agustus 2008, Saya senang mengikuti kemah sosial pertama saya yang disponsori oleh Indonesia Internasional WorkCamp (IIWC). Kali ini peserta kemah terdiri dari 14 orang Pelajar Jepang dan 8orang Indonesia. Tema kemahnya adalah Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. Jadi disamping salaing berbagi budaya, bahasa dan norma adat setempat. Acara ini diadakan di Kembang Arum Salatiga selama 2 minggu. Asyik! Semoga saya bisa bertemu dengan teman-teman Jepang lagi nantinya.

Karate - Asyiknya ikut olahraga Beladiri

Sejak kelas 2 SLTP saya sangat suka dengan Karate. Cabang oLahraga bela diri ini benar-benar menantang. Awalnya ayah saya yang dulunya juga seorang Karateka (atlit Karate) merekomendasikan saya untuk mengikuti latihan Karate.

Ternyata setelah ikut INKAI (Institute Karate Do Indonesia), Karate memberikan lebih dari sekedar olahraga fisik, olahraga ini membuat saya berada di lingkungan yang penuh semangat, energi dan motivasi. Dojo Screuders adalah salah satu Club Karate di Salatiga (Cabean tepatnya). Itulah tempat dimana saya berlatih sebelum pertama kalinya saya mengikuti kejuaraan Karate sejateng di SMA 3 Semarang. (Bojong CUP).

Bagi perempuan ternyata Karate juga diminati. Karena pada umumnya perempuan adalah objek kejahilan yang lebih potensial dibanding laki-laki. Teman berlatih Karate saya juga terlihat tangguh. Jadi jangan macam-macam dengan Karateka Girl!

Bagi anda yang merasa tertantang dan hendang bergabung dengan Olahraga beladiri ini. Silahkan saja mendaftar. Toh kita diak rugi, selain menambah banyak teman bagus buat kesehatan sebagai bonusnya. Tetapi jangan jadi sembong ya kalau sudah pandai bela diri.
